End of Month Evaluations

5. Trusting and loving the process

Trust and Love the Process

Hi guys! I hope you all have had an interesting November!
As you know, it is the end of the month and I’m back again with another ‘end of month evaluation’ topic!

This title is quite interesting to me because this title was inspired by a scholarship transformational life coaching programme/course I am currently undertaking. Yes, I am training to become a Transformational Life Coach and will be qualifying early next year!
*HINT NINT – if you are looking for a (qualified) life coach soon, hit me up next year or whenever you are ready and willing! DISCLAIMER: It will come with a price though!*

“Just trust the process” is something I often hear when I am practising and training to become a Transformational Life Coach. It is also something I tend to hear a lot outside of the programme too. I did not quite understand the term when I first heard it. But as time flew by, I slowly started to grasp the meaning.

Trusting the process can be translated into many different forms:

*Focus on the value that you know you are adding/want to add.
*Practicing patience and gratitude.
*Visualising success/achieved outcome.
*Focus on what you can control.
*Tapping into your inner sense of knowing that guides you. To trust the process completely and wholeheartedly is by not needing to know the whats and whys, ifs and buts, but by simply being here in the present moment to experience and live it.
*Have faith in the unknown.
*Utilise what you learn during each step of the process.

As I just recently graduated and became a Newly Qualified Paediatric Nurse, I found myself always feeling anxious and on edge. I was so worried about starting as a brand new and fresh out-of-the-boat nurse, that I almost started losing sight of the journey. I stopped enjoying it and rather than taking each day as it comes, I began to dread it.

Revisiting some of the modules in my scholarship programme and reflecting on them has reminded me that:

*I need to be more confident in myself and be rest assured that I am doing the best I can and that I am not doing as bad as I think I am.
*Go with the flow.
*Be transparent and honest.
*Be open to receiving feedback.
*If they are coming back and eager for another session, it means you are doing well!
*Try to enjoy every moment by taking each day and session as it comes, without the added pressure.
*Learn from each day/session/obstacle faced and use it to your advantage to grow and develop.
* Know that nothing in this life will ever be ‘perfect’. There is no such thing as perfection. It is an illusion.
*Create, define and redefine YOUR OWN goals and standards.
*Be YOUR OWN competitor.
*Take time to reflect.
And lastly, give yourself some grace.

I am learning that trusting the process is to live in the moment. Live in the now. Try and embrace whatever comes your way and handle it with maturity, but remember to be realistic about it too. Do not allow yourself to live in ‘la la land’ and fall into the pit of deception. Be raw. Be real. Be true to yourself. Allow yourself to be guided with the end goal in mind. Be ready to accept some challenges and embrace them as they come, paying in mind that this is part of the journey of life.

Trust and love the process.

See you next month! 🙂
